Step1 : download and install snappy
If you didn't install snappy under /usr
or /usr/local
, you need to specify the location by --with-snappy
as follows.
# download snappy
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/repo/pkgs/snappy/
# install snappy
tar xvfz snappy-1.1.3.tar.gz
cd snappy-1.1.3
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/snappy
make
make install
Step2 : download and install snzip
# download snzip
https://bintray.com/kubo/generic/snzip,
# install snzip
tar xvfz snzip-1.0.4.tar.gz
cd snzip-1.0.4
./configure --with-snappy=/usr/local/snappy
make
make install
You can use --with-default-format
to change the default compression format.
./configure --with-default-format=snzip
[root@test1 ~]# snzip -h
snzip 1.0.4
Usage: snzip [option ...] [file ...]
general options:
-c output to standard output, keep original files unchanged
-d decompress
-k keep (don't delete) input files
-t name file format name. see below. The default format is framing2.
-h give this help
raw_format option:
-s size size of input data when compressing.
The default value is the file size if available.
tuning options:
-b num internal block size in bytes
-B num internal block size. 'num'-th power of two.
-R num size of read buffer in bytes
-W num size of write buffer in bytes
-T trace for debug
